Hi, I’m Ash
he/him, they them
Part of my gender transition included having gender-affirming top surgery in Oct, 2022. During that surgery, my surgeon uncovered a tumor and I was diagnosed shortly after with breast cancer.
What followed was a life-altering experience with cancer, mental health, and gender transition that showed me a new way of interacting with the world around me.
My experience with cancer and gender transition led me to establish the Umbrella Support Network Foundation. Through our nonprofit work at Umbrella, we seek to provide support and resources for trans and gender expansive folks everywhere.
Part of our work also includes establishing a support network for queer folks who have experienced cancer. In response to the recent US Presidential election, we are focusing most of our efforts in helping gender expansive people everywhere with updating their identifying documents to align as closely as possible with their identity. But if you are seeking cancer support and resources, please contact us.
